Povzetek

Magistrsko delo se osredotoča na kompleksno naravo sodobnih telenovel, ki presegajo tradicionalne okvire klasičnih ljubezenskih pripovedi. Telenovele ohranjajo značilnosti melodrame, vendar se novejše različice spreminjajo ter postajajo bolj dinamične, saj vključujejo težje razumljive tematike z več zapleti in perspektivami, kar zahteva bolj aktivno občinstvo. V ospredju je prikaz razvoja telenovele kot žanra ter zgodbe, ki odraža zapletenost sodobnih družbenih razmerij – predvsem v luči ženskih likov, ki postajajo vse bolj samostojni in vplivni ter izpodbijajo klasične arhetipe. Sodobna telenovela ne upodablja žensk izključno skozi tradicionalne vloge junakinje in njene nasprotnice, zaradi česar se briše strogo ločevanje med protagonistko in antagonistko. V tem kontekstu raziskujemo, kako nova oblika telenovele, zlasti narkotelenovela, prepleta motive maščevanja in moralne dvoumnosti. Kljub kompleksnejši predstavitvi socialnih problemov in izzivanju stereotipnih spolnih vlog zgodbe še vedno prinašajo svojevrstne oblike razrešitve, kar ohranja melodramatično jedro žanra. Skozi pripovedi, ki odražajo in sooblikujejo vrednote današnje družbe, telenovele postajajo pomemben kulturni fenomen, ki zabava in spodbuja razprave o identiteti, spolu in družbenih normah.

Sekundarni povzetek:	The master's thesis focuses on the complex nature of contemporary telenovelas that transcend the traditional confines of classic love stories. Telenovelas retain characteristics of melodrama, but newer versions are evolving and becoming more dynamic - incorporating heavier themes with multiple plots, and perspectives, which require a more active audience. At the forefront is the depiction of the development of telenovela as a genre and how stories reflect the complexity of modern social relationships – especially in light of female characters who are becoming increasingly independent and influential, challenging classical archetypes. Modern telenovelas do not portray women solely through traditional roles of the heroine and her rival, as the strict distinction between protagonist and antagonist is blurred. In this context, we explore how the new form of telenovela, particularly the narcotelenovela, intertwines themes of revenge and moral ambiguity. Despite the more complex representation of social issues and challenging of stereotypical gender roles, the stories still offer unique forms of resolution, maintaining the melodramatic core of the genre. Through narratives that reflect and shape the values of today's society, telenovelas are becoming an important cultural phenomenon that not only entertains but also stimulates discussions about identity, gender, and social norms.
