Povzetek

V diplomskem delu smo želeli predstaviti vlogo managerja in vodenja v podjetju, saj menimo da je za uspešno delovanje in poslovanje podjetja ter dober poslovni izid zelo pomembno, da imamo dobrega in sposobnega managerja. Manager, ki stoji na čelu sodobnega podjetja, ima v podjetju velik vpliv na delovanje podrejenih sodelavcev, ki s svojim delom pripomorejo k uspešnosti organizacije. Njegova naloga je tudi pripraviti ljudi k skupnemu delovanju, tako da jim zagotovi skupne cilje, skupne vrednote, pravo strukturo in nenehno usposabljanje, ki ga potrebujejo za delo in odzivanje na spremembe. Skozi teoretska spoznanja številnih domačih in tujih avtorjev smo se osredotočili predstaviti definicije, vloge, karakteristike, osebnostne značilnosti in sposobnosti ter naloge managerjev, kot tudi definicije vodenja, zgodovinske teorije, načela, modele, stile vodenja, pomen in vlogo timskega dela ter razlike in podobnosti med konceptoma managementa in vodenja. Vodenje in management se torej prepletata, vendar bi bila njuna zamenjava nesprejemljiva. Danes vse več avtorjev poudarja, da za uspešno poslovanje podjetja potrebujemo vodenje kot samostojno kategorijo, medtem ko v teoriji še vedno velja, da je vodenje ena izmed ključnih funkcij managementa. Teorija managementa pravi, da je učinkovit in uspešen management v svojem bistvu kombinacija štirih najpomembnejših funkcij: načrtovanja, organiziranja, vodenja in kontroliranja. Namenjen je usklajevanju nalog in dejavnosti za doseganje zastavljenih ciljev podjetja. Znotraj sodobnih podjetij se odvijajo številni procesi, ki od managerjev zahtevajo vedno nove sposobnosti in znanja. Dobri vodje so predvsem tisti, kateri ne apelirajo samo na razum svojih zaposlenih, ampak na njihovo srce, ter usmerjajo pozornost na cilj in ne na sebe, takšni so transformacijski vodje, kateri so dober vzor zaposlenim. Managerji bi povečali uspešnost organizacije, če bi zaposlenim dodeljevali pomembne naloge in jim z tem izkazovali zaupanje, ter povečali njihovo produktivnost in pripadnost organizaciji, saj njihovo delo več zanje ne bi bila rutina ampak osebno zadovoljstvo in z tem bi bili zastavljeni cilji v organizaciji uresničeni hitreje in učinkoviteje. Da pa bi managerji ohranili pregled nad organizacijo in da se ne bi znašli v konfliktnih situacijah morajo ukrepati pravočasno, torej preden se problemi v organizaciji sploh pojavijo, jih morajo proučiti in se nanje pripraviti. Pri vsem tem pa se morajo posluževati tudi pravilnih stilov vodenja, ki so za dano organizacijo najboljša izbira, tako tudi za zaposlene, kot za managerja glede na njegove lastnosti. Uspešen manager je usmerjen v sodobno tehnologijo, ki mu pomaga pri doseganju zastavljenih ciljev organizacije, pripravljen je na nenehno prilagajanje spremembam, na delo v teamu in na vseživljenjsko učenje.

Sekundarni povzetek: The diploma paper aims to present the role of the manager and leadership in a company. It is my belief that a good and able manager is essential for the successful performance and business operations of a company. A manager who is in charge of a modern company has a great influence on the activities of its subordinate associates, who contribute to the company’s performance by doing their work. The manager’s tasks also include preparing people to work together by providing them with common goals, common values, the right structure and the ongoing training required for performing their work and responding to changes. By examining the theoretical findings of several Slovenian and foreign authors, I focused on the presentation of the definition, role, characteristics, personal characteristics and abilities, and the duties of managers, presenting also the definitions of leadership, historical theories, principles, models, leadership styles, the significance and role of team work and the differences and similarities between the concepts and management and leadership. Leadership and management intertwine, but are not interchangeable. Nowadays, more and more authors stress that a company’s successful operations require leadership as an independent category, while, in theory, leadership is still considered one of the key functions of management. The theory of management states that effective and successful management is in its essence a combination of four the most important functions: planning, organising, leading and controlling. It is intended to coordinate assignments and activities in order to achieve the goals set by a company. Within modern companies, numerous processes take place that require new abilities and skills from managers. Good leaders are primarily those that do not only appeal to the reason of their employees, but also to their hearts, whereby directing their attention to the goal and not themselves. Such are transformation leaders who represent a good example to employees. Managers could enhance the performance of their organisation if they allocated important tasks to employees, thereby expressing their confidence in them and increasing their productivity and their sense of belonging to the organisation. Such work would no longer represent a routine, but a personal pleasure and the goals set by the organisation would be achieved sooner and more effectively. But in order to maintain an overview of the organisation and not be found in conflicting situations, managers must take action in a timely fashion, i.e. before problems in an organisation arise, studying and preparing for them. In doing so, they must apply the correct leadership styles that prove to be the best choice for the given organisation, both for employees as well as for the manager in light of his or her characteristics. A successful manager is focused on modern technology that helps him or her achieve the goals set by the organisation and is ready to adapt to changes continuously, work in a team and learn throughout his or her life.
