Sekundarni naslov: Management of watlands with emphasis improvement of water quality - example of flood control reservoir Podutik
Sekundarni povzetek: Flood control reservoirs are water ecosystems that often exceed nutrient input limit and hence tend to reach state of eutrofication and consequently danger of poisoning the water. At flood control reservoir Podutik which is only partly constantly wetted, we suspect that a large part of households is not yet connected to the sewer system, and therefore are releasing their waste directly to the river Glinščica. With appropriate measurement techniques we wished to estimate the actual state of water. We measured temperature, special conductivity, pH values, dissolved oxygen, oxygen saturation, redox potential, water depth, ammonia and nitrate concentration and water discharge. We also did a grain size analysis of the river sediments on some parts of the reservoir. Based on this results and an analysis of interests of land use and local inhabitants we prepared possible solutions of flood control reservoir regulations. We proposed lengthening of the storm water channel which we partly plant with water plants before reaching the reservoir. With that we enable some reduction of nutrients in the water of flood control reservoir. Second part of regulation concerns wider parts of reservoir. We sanction the wild deposit places for construction materials and other waste, which has been gathering in the reservoir. We also place a passage trough the reservoir and erect a bridge for crossing the river Glinščica. With these steps we help the reservoir to get a place in recreational and spare time activities of surrounding inhabitants.

Povzetek (ePrints): Zadrževalniki visokih voda se vodni ekosistemi, ki pogosto zaradi preseženih obremenitev s hranilnimi snovmi hitro dosežejo evtrofno stanje in posledično nevarnost strupenosti vode. V zadrževalniku Podutik, katerega del je stalno omočen, je predvidoma priključenih večje število gospodinjstev brez primerne obdelave odpadnih voda. Z meritvami smo želeli ugotoviti dejansko stanje. Strugo meteorne vode smo podaljšali in pred zadrževalnikom delno zasadili z vodnimi rastlinami ter s tem omogočili zmanjšanje vsebnosti hranilnih snovi v vodi zadrževalnika.
