In the theoretical part I discussed the position and the competences of the social pedagogue in the institution like the nursing home. I focused my attention towards ageing, different types of oldness, changes that appeared in some ages and the factors that can influence the quality of the life of an elderly. In continuation I discussed the inclusion of elderly into nursing home. I presented the characteristics of these institutions and the possibilities to spend the free time qualitatively. I exposed the voluntary work that is crucial nowadays.
It is important to be prepared for oldness. One possibility is to educate, to integrate and the courses of intergenerational solidarity. The intergenerational cooperation and communication is very important and desired, because young people help elderly to be optimistic and happy.
In the empirical part I presented the group of elderly and their actively spending of free time that are performed as the meetings every month. I found out that the social pedagogue in the nursing home can contribute to more active and fulfilled life of elderly. This is the way to make people feel accepted and contribute to their well-being. I found out that spending free time actively satisfied their need for safety, socializing, belonging and creativity. Another finding is the voluntary work as the way to develop human solidarity and strengthening the intergenerational relationship. |

V diplomi sem na začetku teoretičnega dela predstavila delovanje socialnega pedagoga in njegove kompetence v instituciji, natančneje v domu starostnikov. Največ pozornosti sem namenila starosti in staranju, vrstam starosti, spremembam v posameznih starostnih obdobjih ter dejavnikom, ki vplivajo na kakovostno starost. Nadaljevala pa sem z vključevanjem starostnikov v domove za ostarele, značilnosti teh domov ter možnosti za kakovostno preživljanje prostega časa. Izpostavila sem prostovoljstvo, ki ima v današnjih razmerah prednostno mesto. Na starost se je treba pripraviti s pomočjo izobraževanj, medsebojnim povezovanjem, tečaji medgeneracijskega sožitja. Za kakovostno starost je pomembna komunikacija med generacijami, saj mladi pomagajo starejšim ohranjati veselje do življenja in življenjski optimizem in prav zato je medgeneracijsko sodelovanje še kako pomembno in zaželeno.
V empiričnem delu sem predstavila skupino starostnikov in njihovo aktivno preživljanje prostega časa v obliki mesečnih srečanj. Ugotovila sem, da socialni pedagog lahko prispeva k aktivnejšemu in polnejšemu načinu življenja v instituciji, kot je dom za starejše občane, da se zato starostniki dobro počutijo, tam kjer so in da naša mesečna druženja prispevajo k boljšemu počutju in povezanosti. Ugotovila sem, da s pomočjo aktivnega preživljanja prostega časa starostniki zadovoljijo potrebo po varnosti, druženju, pripadnosti ter ustvarjalnosti. Hkrati pa sem ugotovila, da je prostovoljstvo način za razvijanje človeške solidarnosti in krepitve medgeneracijskih odnosov. |
