Sekundarni povzetek: The aim and goal of this diploma paper was to review the status of articulation and laterality and possible links between those two in children at the age of five and six, just before entering primary school. The paper presents statistical processing of data gained through three - positional test for the evaluatation of articulation (D. Vuletić, 1997). The latter tests the state of articulation and laterality for each individual tested. Although the test is not standardized it is a good diagnostic tool in speech therapy. By testing laterality we obtained the data on the basis of which the influence on the statistically proper articulation of the phonemes can be determined. Using the appropriate methodology, we identified relations between variables. The research included eighty children from various kindergartens in Ljubljana. Using χ2 test and the results obtained through the three - positional test we have explored the possible links between gender and laterality and between laterality and articulation. The conclusions obtained through research have shown that a large number of children have combined speech disorders; that laterality and gender in children are not statistically significant related and that between laterality and articulation there is no statistically significant correlation.
