Calibration of the HBV model for the Sava Watershed in Slovenia |

The present work focuses on the calibration and verification of the HBV model for Sava watershed, with two different time steps, day and one hour. Modeled watershed covers an area of 10098.49 km2 and it is divided into 26 subbasins with areas ranging from 0.26 km2 to 1019.85 km2 . Each subbasin is then divided into different elevation and vegetation zones. The Swedish conceptual HBV model on the Sava watershed was used for runoff simulation from subbasins as well for computing other hydrological variables. The results of calibration of two models for the Sava watershed with daily and hourly time steps are presented in the form of hydrographs for each subbasin as well for the whole watershed. Calculated and observed discharges are presented for all subbasins and the whole watershed, and some statistical analyses for the calibration and verification period are added. The period 1990-1999 was used for the calibration and 2000-2006 for the verification of the daily HBV model. The hourly model was calibrated on the period 1998-1999. The HBV model for Sava watershed with hourly time step was further used for simulation of 15 different rainfall scenarios. |
