Sekundarni povzetek:	Complex and lasting nature of building constructions results in various impacts on the environment and population. It is therefore necessary to ensure adequate control over the building process that guarantees the quality of the final product. The main goal of my diploma work is to study and understand the importance of building supervision and its influence in the system of quality assurance and control in construction process. The thesis presents and analyses the role of the supervising engineer during the construction process. Literature survey that was carried out within this work outlines the competences and responsibilities of supervising engineer as well as his/her cooperation with other participants involved in the process of building. The first part summarizes the existing legislation and other theoretical backgrounds that define the building control. In the second part I present two case studies. The work of supervising engineer in practice is analyzed and discussed. Due to his/her knowledge, experience and role a supervising engineer can have essential influence on the quality of the final product. As a consequence, it is beneficial for all parties involved in construction to be acquainted with this role during the building process.

Povzetek (ePrints):	Kompleksna in trajna narava gradbenih objektov rezultira v raznolikih vplivih na okolje in ljudi, zato je potrebno zagotoviti ustrezen nadzor procesa gradnje in s tem kakovost končnega proizvoda tega procesa. Glavni cilj diplomske naloge je spoznati in razumeti pomembnost gradbenega nadzora ter opredeliti njegovo vlogo v sistemu zagotavljanja in kontrole kakovosti v gradbeništvu. Diplomsko delo predstavlja in analizira vlogo gradbenega nadzora v procesu graditve. Na podlagi študija literature naloga izpostavlja kompetence in odgovornosti gradbenega nadzornika ter prikazuje njegovo sodelovanje z ostalimi udeleženci, ki sodelujejo pri procesu graditve. V prvem delu diplomske naloge je predstavljena zakonodaja in ostale teoretične podlage, ki definirajo in opredeljujejo gradbeni nadzor. V nadaljevanju sta obravnavana dva primera dela gradbenega nadzornika v praksi, na podlagi katerega je izvedena analiza. Nadzorni inženir lahko s svojimi izkušnjami in znanjem, ki ga uporablja pri svojem delu, bistveno vpliva na kakovost končnega produkta in ravno zaradi tega je koristno, da so z njegovo vlogo seznanjeni vsi udeleženci v procesu graditve.
