The diploma work is presenting spatial planning in connection with the application of geography information systems. The introduction contains a description of the tasks geodesy has had through time and definitions of space, spatial planning and geography information systems, as well as an indication of possible links between the planning domain and the use of GIS applications. Further on, in order to facilitate the comprehension of the problem sphere, there is a description of the circumstances in the Slovene communities, as far as spatial planning is concerned. In addition, there is number of space-related data, listed and described, which can be useful to planners in production of spatial documents. The conclusion is presenting the results of the SWOT analysis carried out with the purpose of pointing out the applicability as well as the disadvantages of the use of GIS systems in the process of spatial planning. The analysis is being followed by a study of practical examples of GIS analyses in the processes of spatial planning, related to the widening of the Dobrna settlement. |
