Sekundarni povzetek:	The World Wide Web has become one of the most important sources of information. The amount of information on the Web is increasing daily, but quality information is getting harder to find. For the Google search engine to find our website from all of those which are available, we need to optimize our website, which is the topic of my diploma paper. Website optimization is a process of increasing a website’s or webpage’s recognition in search engines. In the diploma paper, we deal with the impact that various factors, such as website content, Meta data, Web addresses, links from other sites and picture characteristics, have on the optimization. We also deal with the tools which are used to follow the website and analyse the condition of its optimization, or offer technical support for the optimization process. We have carried out an empirical study with which we tried to determine the ways and the extent to which the Slovene Adult Education Centres deal with the optimization of their websites and with it, the recognition of their site on the Web. We were also interested in the elements of the optimization these institutions take special care of when designing a website and weather they are taking care of the optimization themselves or are paying specialised companies to do it. We did some research about the amount of advertising Adult Education Centres do on search engines and also what intervals they use when advertising. We have determined that most of the Adult Education Centres do take care of their websites’ optimization. However, most of their websites lack certain elements of optimization, which would put them higher up on the hits in search engines.

Povzetek (ePrints):	Dandanes je splet eden od najpomembnejših prostorov pri iskanju informacij. Na spletu je vse več podatkov, iz katerih je kakovostne informacije potrebno izluščiti. Da bo iskalnik google izmed vseh spletnih strani našel prav našo, pa je potrebna optimizacija spletne strani, o kateri je govora v tej diplomski nalogi. Optimizacija spletnih strani je postopek izboljšanja razpoznavnosti spletišča ali spletne strani v iskalnikih. V diplomskem delu obravnavamo, kako na samo optimizacijo vplivajo razni dejavniki, kot so vsebina, zapisana na spletni strani, meta podatki, naslovi, zunanje povezave in oznake slik. Obravnavamo tudi orodja, s katerimi lahko spremljamo spletno stran in analiziramo stanje njene optimizacije, ali pa nam pri optimizaciji nudijo tehnično podporo. Izvedli smo empirično raziskavo, s katero smo skušali ugotoviti, na kakšen način in v kolikšni meri se slovenski centri za izobraževanje odraslih ukvarjajo z optimizacijo svojih spletnih strani in s tem boljše prepoznavnosti na spletu. Zanimalo nas je tudi, na katere elemente optimizacije so pri sami zasnovi spletnih vsebin bolj pozorni, in ali za optimizacijo skrbijo sami ali plačajo podjetjem, ki se s tem ukvarjajo. Raziskovali smo tudi, ali centri za izobraževanje odraslih na spletnih iskalnikih oglašujejo, in če da, v kakšnih intervalih. Ugotovili smo, da večina centrov za izobraževanje odraslih za optimizacijo svoje spletne strani skrbi, vendar pa pri večini manjkajo določeni elementi optimizacije, ki bi njihovo spletno stran postavili še višje med rezultati.
