Sekundarni naslov: E-learning materials in mathematics education
Sekundarni povzetek: When studying mathematics, most pupils and students need mathematical tools, along with the teachers' explanation. The updated curriculum for mathematics in primary and secondary education also recommends using materials connected to information and communication technology. Although e-learning materials are not directly mentioned in a curricula as a tool for learning mathematics, they should, nevertheless, be considered as a tool which can be used in a class with the help of a teacher or independently, out of class. The diploma thesis entitled »E-learning Materials in Mathematics Education« studies e-learning materials as a modern teaching tool for teaching mathematics. It consists from a theoretical part, followed by empirical research. First, teaching tools for teaching mathematics in different periods in history are presented together with today’s teaching tools according to the primary and secondary school curricula in Slovenia. Further on, the focus is on e-learning materials and e-learning itself. A short development of e-learning is presented and a notion of an “e-learning material” is defined. Also, the criteria for evaluation of quality of e-learning materials are presented and according to these criteria, the evaluation of Slovenian web sites with e-learning materials for teaching mathematics is carried out. The second empirical part of the diploma thesis comprises two surveys on the use and knowledge of e-learning materials. The first survey was carried out among secondary school maths teachers who attended a lecture on the use of e-learning materials for mathematics and later presented them to students. The second survey was carried out among the students who attended a lesson with and without the use of e-learning materials. Students’ opinions and knowledge of e-learning materials are presented, concluding with the comparison between e-learning and classical learning.
