Sekundarni povzetek: In my thesis I presented the history of Novo mesto with its major cultural monuments. The thesis also includes child's development and its perception in traffic along with traffic education provided by the school and by the parents as well. Therefore in my thesis I present the school way of the primary school Grm as well as the pros and cons of that school way. Precautions are extremely important in the world of traffic, especially nowadays when traffic plays such an important role. The didactic part includes one lesson for the second class of the 9-year primary school which consists of an informative walk in the proximity of the school and pupils’ recognition and perception of traffic signs on the way. 59 pupils from 1st, 2nd and 3rd class were included in the research and 42 of their parents. With this research it has been verified how the pupils arrive to school, how they obey the rules of traffic, whether they know the traffic signs in the proximity of their school and also if they talk about traffic with their parents. I analyzed the pupils’ answers and graphically presented them. I also did interviews with three elderly citizens who went to the same primary school as the pupils included in my research.

Povzetek (ePrints): V diplomskem delu je predstavljena zgodovina Novega mesta s pomembnejšimi kulturnimi spomeniki. Vključuje tudi otrokov razvoj ter zaznavanje v prometu, prometno vzgojo tako s strani šole kot staršev. Predstavljena je tudi šolska pot osnovne šole Grm v Novem mestu ter pozitivne in negativne točke na poti. Preventivne akcije so zelo pomembne v svetu prometa, še posebej v današnjem času, ko igra promet pomembno vlogo. Didaktični del obsega eno učno pripravo za 2. razred devetletne osnovne šole, ki obsega učni sprehod v neposredni bližini šole ter prepoznavanje in zaznavanje prometnih znakov na poti. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih 59 učencev 1., 2. in 3. razreda ter 42 staršev teh učencev OŠ Grm Novo mesto. Z raziskavo je bilo preverjeno, kako učenci prihajajo v šolo, upoštevajo pravila v prometu, se pogovarjajo s svojimi starši in če poznajo prometne znake v neposredni bližini šole. Odgovore učencev sem analizirala in grafično tudi predstavila. Opravljeni so bili tudi intervjuji s tremi starejšimi občani, ki so obiskovali omenjeno šolo.
