The thesis entitled Quiz as a motivational tool in the school describes positive features quizzes and their applications during classes. In the research, these effects are confirmed by the participating students and teachers.
In the theoretical part of my thesis I first identified the importance of motivation in class for better and more efficient work of teachers and students. Below I described the origin of quizzes and their purpose and uses of them in class.
In the empirical part, I used descriptive analysis as also content analysis of the answers to the questions from the surveys that students and teachers wrote down. I realized that the quiz is very popular among the students, mainly, because of the team work. The competitiveness for students is not so important, but is defined by the students as a positive feature of the quiz, just like the improving of welfare in the class.
Even teachers are aware of the many advantages that the quiz brings, but they do not use it in class as much as students would like. The first reason for this is because they do not get a real knowledge view of all students in the group. The second is that within team work some students are not active at all. It was also indicated that for the preparation of efficient quiz requires more time than usual to prepare a written assessment. Teachers use the learning method quiz mostly to learn about society and science and technology. In these subjects is mainly factual knowledge, which is more appropriate to carry out the quiz than for knowledge at higher levels. Most of teachers have also come to the conclusion to not use quiz methods more often than usual. |

V diplomskem delu z naslovom Kviz kot motivacijsko sredstvo v šoli so opisane pozitivne lastnosti kvizov in njihove uporabe med poukom, v raziskavi pa ti učinki potrjeni tako s strani sodelujočih učencev kot učiteljic.
V teoretičnem delu svojega diplomskega dela sem najprej opredelila pomembnost motivacije med poukom za kakovostnejše in bolj smotrno delo učiteljev ter učencev. V nadaljevanju sem opisala izvor kvizov in njihov namen ter načine uporabe le-teh med poukom.
V empiričnem delu sem uporabila deskriptivno analizo in analizo vsebine dopisanih odgovorov iz anketnih vprašalnikov za učence in učiteljice. Pri učencih sem spoznala, da je kviz res zelo priljubljen predvsem zaradi dela v skupini – timskega dela. Tekmovalnost jim pri kvizih ni toliko pomembna, vendar je, s strani učencev, opredeljena kot pozitivna lastnost kviza, ravno tako kot izboljšanje počutja učencev v razredu.
Tudi učiteljice se zavedajo številnih prednosti, ki jih kviz prinaša, vendar ga ne uporabljajo med poukom toliko, kot bi si učenci želeli. Razlog za to je, da ne dobijo realne slike znanja vseh učencev v skupini in da znotraj skupin ne sodelujejo vsi učenci. Navedle so tudi, da za pripravo smotrnega kviza potrebujejo več časa kot za pripravo običajnega pisnega preverjanja znanja. Učiteljice uporabljajo učno metodo kviza največ pri spoznavanju družbe ter naravoslovju in tehniki, saj pri teh predmetih je v ospredju faktografsko znanje, katero je za izvedbo kviza bolj primerno od znanja na višjih ravneh. Večina učiteljic je tudi odločenih, da učne metode kviza med poukom ne bodo uporabljale pogosteje kot do sedaj. |
