In recent years we have witnessed increasing public awareness in the field of environmental issues. Construction industry is among the largest polluters, therefore it is particularly important that in this area, work processes and products conform to the environmental norms and guidelines that have been adopted within the European Union. One of the largest sources of environmental burdens is construction and demolition waste, that accounts for more than 25 percent of the total waste generated in Slovenia. In Slovenia, waste management is one of the less settled areas of environmental protection, that should not be considered as cost and a set of prohibitions and commandments, as it may also protect the environment is an important factor of development and direct changes in production and consumption goods. Although waste management is reasonably well-regulated and coordinated with the EU, the implementation of the legislation in practice is significantly lower due to lack of data regarding waste quantities, composition and methods of handling. The main culprits for this situation are companies whose activities have strong impact on the environment . Investment in environmental protection is considered predominantlyas a cost rather than long- term investment that can have a commercial advantage. For this reason, the thesis presents the evolution and types of construction waste; after that, possible ways of recycling and reuse are discussed. A case study, a demolition project of faciliy Cukrarna, is presented. Several types o waste have been generated in this case, The thesis presents the waste management implemented by the contracting company, SCT. |

S tem razlogom v diplomski nalogi predstavljam nastanke in vrste gradbenih odpadkov, jih kategoriziram in predstavim moţne načine reciklaţe in ponovne uporabe. |
