Opinion of the future biology teachers about practical work in teaching biology |

Practical work is already for a long time included in biology classes. Its purpose is to deepen and widen knowledge of science and technology. Most scientists, teachers and parents believe that students should nowadays understand the basics of biological sciencemore than ever. Only with that knowledge could they fully participate in their workplace and be able to decide on many everyday issues. This thesis presents a research carried out in 2010 on students of all four years of twosubject study of biology-household and biology-chemistry about their opinion regarding practical work in biology classes. Research showed that students give priority to practical work before the traditional classes, mainly because they positively asses practical work that they haved experienced during their own education process in schools. They also believe that they are well competent to perform al the skills that practical work enables. As the most important goal of education student consider obtaining of knowledge for life and future education. They also know which objectives can be reached and which skills can be developed through practical work. Based on our finding we can conclude that, according to opinion of students-future teachers of biology, practical work is not merely an appendix, but an essential component of science classes. |

Pri pouku biologije se praktično delo že dlje časa vključuje z namenom poglabljanja in širjenja znanja naravoslovja in tehnologije, saj je večina znanstvenikov, učiteljev in staršev mnenja, da morajo učenci ob koncu šolanja danes bolj kot nekoč dobro razumeti osnove biološke znanosti, da bodo lahko polno sodelovali na delovnem mestu in se znali odločati o vsakodnevnih zadevah. Diplomsko delo predstavlja raziskavo opravljeno leta 2010 na študentih vseh štirih letnikov dvopredmetnega študija biologija-gospodinjstvo in biologija-kemija o njihovem mnenju glede praktičnega dela pri pouku biologije. Ugotovili smo, da študentje dajejo prednost praktičnemu pouku pred tradicionalnim poukom, saj praktično delo, ki so ga bili deležni v dosedanjem izbobraževanju ocenjujejo pozitivno ter, da so razvili večino kompetenc, ki jih praktično delo omogoča razvijati. Menijo, da sta najpomembnejša cilja pouka pridobivanje znanja za življenje in nadaljne izobraževanje in vedo katere učne cilje lahko s praktičnim delom razvijamo. Glede na naše ugotovitve lahko zaključimo, da po mnenju študentov – bodočih učiteljev biologije praktično delo ni le »dodatek« ampak bistvena sestavina naravoslovnega pouka. |
