Sekundarni povzetek:	The aim of my work is to present the theoretical platform for picture books, but mainly to present and analyze the work of Lilijana Praprotnik Zupančič, better known by her pseudonym Lila Prap. The theoretical part is based on the theory by Maria Nikalajeva (How Picturebooks Work?, 2001). I analysed the verbal and visual parts of picture books, with emphasis on the verbal. In picture books by Lila Prap there are mostly themes from the animal world but she is best known for her informative educational picturebooks.The technique used by Lila Prap in her picture books is dry pastel on dark background. All her picture books are full of humor, nonsense and word play; her poetry is melodic and rich with rhyme. With her work, especially with the picture book Why?, Lila Prap has experienced great success in Japan, where a series of cartoons was filmed based on her picture book.They published two more picture books, based on the cartoons, and toys inspired by the characters and the author. Her work is not part of the Slovene curriculum or the school reading books in the first three years of elementary school.

Povzetek (ePrints):	Namen diplomskega dela je predstaviti teoretična izhodišča o slikanici, predvsem pa predstaviti Lilijano Praprotnik Zupančič, bolje poznano pod umetniškim imenom Lila Prap, in analizirati njena dela. Analiza slikanic izhaja iz teorije slikanice po MarijiNikolajevi (How Picturebooks Work?, 2001), pri čemer je večji poudarek na verbalnem kot vizualnem delu. V slikanicah Lile Prap prevladujejo teme iz živalskega sveta, najbolj prepoznavna pa je avtorica po svojih informativnih slikanicah. Likovna tehnika ilustracij v avtorskihslikanicah Lile Prap je risanje s suhimi pasteli na temno podlago, v verbalnem delu pa so slikanice polne humorja, nonsensa in besednih iger; njena poezija je melodična, obogatena z rimami. Lila Prap je s svojimi deli, zlasti s slikanico Zakaj?, doživela velik uspeh na Japonskem, saj so slikanico prevedli, posneli serijo risank z liki iz slikanice in izdali še dodatni dve slikanici, napisani na podlagi risank, izdelali igrače s podobami njenih likov in nje same. Čeprav učni načrt v prvi triadi devetletke predvideva obravnavo in branje slikanic, med predlogi za branje ni avtorskih slikanic Lile Prap, ne pojavlja pa se niti v berilih.
