Problem topics and readers' responses on online forums |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Problem topics are among the most common thematic groups in modern youth literature. Problem topics or taboo topics emerged in literature in the 1960s. Taboos appearing in youth literature are the following: alcohol, drugs, sexual abuse, homosexuality, violence, disease, death, suicide, poverty, homelessness, religion, separation of parents, fear ...
The thesis explores the question of which Slovenian youth texts containing problem topics are the most commented on the Internet forums and how the readers respond to these texts. Furthermore, the thesis looks into the differences between the responses of younger and older readers.
The theoretical part presents the main characteristics of youth literature (types and thematic groups), considering problem topics in selected youth texts and defining reading (according to its importance, type, development, and reader typology). Further on, the Cankar Award Contest is presented, its essence, aims and execution. The empirical part includes qualitative analysis of 890 publications on online forums consisting of responses of readers of all ages regarding the selected youth texts containing problem topic. The analyzed publications show contradictory opinions on different understanding of texts, reflecting age differences in responses between younger and older readers, and, lastly, offering ideas for better communication between online forum users. |

Povzetek (ePrints): |
Problemske teme so ena izmed napogostejših tematskih skupin v mladinski književnosti.
V teoretičnem delu predstavljam bistvene značilnosti mladinske književnosti (zvrsti in tematske skupine), obravnavam problemske teme z izbranimi mladinskimi besedili ter opredeljujem branje (pomen, vrste, razvoj in tipologijo bralcev). |
