Fairystory »through the looking-glass« of psychoanalysis – fairystory as a therapeutic method for speach and language pathology treatment of selective mutism |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
This diploma paper deals with fairystory as adult literature which is transferred to the child through the 'art of narrating' of adults. It is reflected through the concept of psychoanalysis tracing analogies with fiction and spirituality. That spirituality which freed itself from the bonds of religious institutions and began comparing its own intelligence with intuitive intelligence of the sacred scriptures. Fairystory as apocalyptical literature aims at the ontological status of ambivalence which is also dealt with in various sacred scriptures. Since devotion is a typical characteristic of the believers' relationship to God and this same devotion can be observed in the passive expression of the daughter's relationship to her Father, 'equality of intelligence validation' (Rancière: 2005) between the psychoanalytical discourse and the discourse of spirituality is warranted for sake of understanding fiction.
The thread of the central question which is followed in this text is the genesis of femininity. The fairystory by African author Kama Sywor Kamanda, Enchanted Girl, which deals with a specific libidinal structure of the girl in her latency period supports the analysis included in the theoretical discussion section. The story exposes the tension between two signifiers, the Mother and Father, where we can observe the girl's devoted attachment to her Father and disattachment of devotion through 'That Third' which intervenes as the object of Desire and thus restructures the Father as signifier.
The conclusion of the discussion is intended to take into consideration the therapist's role (Analyst, Speech and Language Pathologist) in relationship to the special needs children (a child with the pathological state of 'selective mutism'). However, this role is qualitatively different from the role in the relationship of two adults. By careful selection of a fairystory as therapeutic method used by the Speech and Language Pathologist to kindle interest in the child for asking key questions which arise in the subject in different 'periods of heightened sensitivity' (Bettleheim: 1972, Montessori: 2006) in order to build a Subject of culture. The method of fairystory used in speech and language pathology treatment allows a wide didactic application on linguistic, psychological and sociological purviews.
This diploma paper sheds light and defines the place and role of the Speech and Language Therapist in the multidisciplinary team for diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of developmental psychopathology which according to DSM IV-TR (SMF, 20. 11. 2010) also includes the pathological state of 'selective mutism' either as an independent or accompanying symptom. |

Zaključek razprave je namenjen razmišljanju o vlogi terapevta (analitika, logopeda) v odnosu z otrokom s posebnimi potrebami (otrokom s patologijo 'selektivnega mutizma').
