Sekundarni povzetek: This graduation thesis treats two-dimensional mathematical flow model for computation of flood waves in the area of foreseen reservoirs HPP Brežice and HPP Mokrice. General description and classification of flood waves are described in initial part of the work. Then the phenomenon of floods, their characteristics and flood protection measures are descibed. Measures for flood protection can be divided into river training activities and alteranive measures. First mean construction of buildings to improve conditions of river flow and with other we try to mitigate damage and to reduce consequences of the pfenomenon. Further on, the computation of flood waves with the programme PCFLOW2D, that was developed at the Chair of fluid mechanics with a laboratory is desribed. Some theoretical features of the model including basic equations and numerical solution method are given. Main characteristics of the PCFLOW2D computer code are also presented devoting special attention to data preparation and presentation of the results with the use of AutoCAD graphies package. On the lower Sava River steady flow at eight different discharges and two cases of unsteady flow were computed. Computations for the present state of embankments showed, the need of their reconstruction at some places to increase the flood safety of population. For the designed conditions with two reservoirs of HPP Brežice and HPP Mokrice new calculations will have to be made to check the height of existent and new embankments because of possible rise of water level.
