Sekundarni povzetek: The topic of my diploma paper is based on the work with autistic twin brothers using the Floortime Method. I decided to choose this topic due to lack of knowledge about the Floortime Method in Slovenia. The aim of my research was to find out how the use of Floortime Method would influence the boys' communication and their attention span in the period of six weeks. When I started working in a preschool special education classroom, I met the autistic twin brothers who really intrigued me. Some time later, I came across the Floortime Method at the seminar and I found it very interesting, since it had not been very well known nor researched in Slovenia. I used the Floortime Method in the period of six weeks. The boys' mother completed a Socio-pragmatic Skills Rating Scale (Girolametto, 1997) before the Method was used and after it, while I completed the Floortime Method Assessment Questionnaire at the beginning of the use, so that I could compare the boys' abilities and differences. At the end of the Method use, I compared the boys' progress in communication. After the use of the Floortime Method¸ the boys' non-verbal communication increased. The results obtained from the Socio-pragmatic Skills Rating Scale have shown progress in responsiveness and assertiveness of both boys. The results of their second assessment have shown a definite improvement, ie. an improvement of one level. The results have shown that both boys are the same communication type, which refutes my hypothesis. Nevertheless, the improvement of Boy 2 has been astonishing.
