Sekundarni povzetek:	In my diploma thesis I research the parents' expectations towards school counselling service in elementary school. The basic question is what parents expect from school counselling service and the cooperation with them. In the first part of thesis, the work of school counselling service in elementary school, its basic goals and its basic tasks are represented. In addition to this the thesis presents the field of additional professional help as help for children with special needs and the field of expectations. In the second part of thesis I present the research and its findings. The research was carried out amongst parents in the selected elementary school, the Anton Martin Slomšek elementary school in Vrhnika. Amongst parents an anonymous survey was carried out. Findings of my research are compatible with some of the results of the researches made abroad. Findings of my research show that the parents mostly expect advice, enthusiasm in cooperation with parents and improvement in the field that is the cause of child’s problems from the school counselling service. The research can contribute to better awareness of the concept of expectations and the influence expectations have. The research can also offer school counsellors an insight into what parents expect of them.

Povzetek (ePrints):	V diplomskem delu raziskujem pričakovanja staršev do strokovnih delavcev, zaposlenih na osnovni šoli. Osnovno vprašanje je, kaj starši pričakujejo od strokovnih delavcev in sodelovanja z njimi. V prvem delu je predstavljeno delovanje šolske svetovalne službe, njeni temeljni cilji in osnovne naloge. Poleg tega je na kratko predstavljeno področje dodatne strokovne pomoči, kot nudenje pomoči otrokom s posebnimi potrebami ter področje pričakovanj. V drugem delu predstavljam raziskavo in ugotovitve. Raziskava je bila opravljena med starši izbrane osnovne šole, t.j. osnovna šola Antona Martina Slomška na Vrhniki. Med starši je bila opravljena anonimna anketa. Rezultati raziskave se ujemajo z nekaterimi izsledki raziskav, opravljenih v tujini. Rezultati kažejo, da starši od strokovnih delavcev pričakujejo predvsem nasvet, zavzetost za sodelovanje in izboljšanje otrokovega delovanja na področju, ki otroku povzroča težave. Raziskava lahko pripomore k zavedanju pojma pričakovanj in vplivu, ki ga le-ta imajo. Strokovnim delavcem lahko ponudi vpogled v to, kaj od njih pričakujejo staršev.
