The role of the puppet in the growing literacy |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
The thesis provides insight into how puppets contribute to a more effective recognition of written symbols, encourage language ability, creativity and artistic activities, and help develop pre-reading and pre-writing abilities and skills. The children were in daily contact with the puppets, which encouraged them to engage in additional activities and demonstrate their skills. The children were successful in rearranging the room into a theatre, creating puppets and manipulating them, preparing the show and observing both the situation and the performance of their peers.
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with learning in the preschool period. It presents the factors influencing emergent literacy, the area of art, the types and characteristics of children’s play, and the role of the puppet. The empirical part outlines the activities where puppets – letters – were crucial. The letters stimulated emotional, social and cognitive development of the children, who became motivated for recognising written language symbols and more creative in the theatre. The puppets functioned as a means for exciting interest in letter recognition. |

Lutke so bile vključene v naš vsakdan.
