Non-visual reception in sculpture |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In my thesis I explore the potential of non-visual components of sculptural artworks. For that purpose I define reception and perception. I introduce senses and sculptural artworks of 20th century that address the specific sense. I examine reasons and consequences of favored treatment of vision and neglection of other senses, as well as the situation of people with blindness and visual impairement in today's visual culture.
I committed my own artistic expression to create sculptural artworks that are to be experienced by non-visual senses in order to be perceived fully. I made five sculptures and exhibited them in complete darkness, thus putting the visitor in position where he must use other senses.
I introduce sculptural techniques and materials that can be applied in pedagogical work to encourage the use of all senses and raise awareness of their importance. They are suitable for both fully sighted children as well as for children with blindness and visual impairment. I introduce various ways of using art classes to depict the world of people with blindness and visual impairment to our students in order to inform them, demolish prejudices and accept diversity. |

Povzetek (ePrints): |
V diplomskem delu raziskujem potencial nevizualne komponente kiparskih del.
Predstavim tudi načine, kako skozi likovni pouk učencem približati svet oseb s slepoto in slabovidnostjo z namenom informiranja, rušenja predsodkov in sprejemanja drugačnosti. |
