Sekundarni jezik: Angleški jezik
Sekundarni naslov: Level crossings safety trends analysis
Sekundarni povzetek: Level crossings represent a weak point in terms of traffic safety. The problem is even more present because of a very large number of such crossings on the Slovenian railway network. Although modernization and upgrading has been substantial in recent years, a large part of level crossings are still only passively protected with "St. Andrew's cross". At level crossings protected by automatic devices, the safety is still endangered because of the low traffic culture of the road traffic users. Using a database of traffic accidents for the period from 1988 to 2004 and values of specific civil engineering, traffic safety and statistical parameters, which show existing state on level crossings in 2004, a statistical analysis was made, which shows the influence of individual parameter on the safety at level crossings.
