Sekundarni naslov: Cold bituminous mixes
Sekundarni povzetek: Asphalt mix (short also asphalt) can be obtained from nature (natural asphalt) or produced technically (artificial asphalt), i. e. as a mix of bituminous binder, stone grain, and other additives that improve the asphalt properties. The beginnings of the use of asphalt can be traced from 6,000 to 4,000 BC since people back then knew some materials that contained bitumen as a binder. A more frequent use of the natural asphalt, however, starts around 3,000 BC. Different peoples used it primarily for the waterproofing of temple baths, water reservoirs, and hulls of merchant ships as well as for erosion prevention. After 1747 asphalt started to be used predominantly in road construction. At first, only the natural asphalt was used, but afterwards, the artificial one became more prominent as well. As any other building construction roads need to be maintained as well. The rising of traffic and weather pressures, deficiency in both implementation and maintenance, and the inappropriate usage of asphalt surfaces result in various damages which require rehabilitation for safety reasons alone. In the diploma paper I present a quick, simple, and efficient solution for the rehabilitation of the damaged asphalt surfaces, i. e. the cold bituminous mix (CBM) or the so-called cold asphalt. CBM is a high quality asphalt mix, modified with polymers. Its most important property is the installation in its cold state. The paper describes in detail the CBM’s composition, production, use, installation and quality control.
