Sekundarni povzetek: In the first few chapters of my graduate thesis I will present psychological perspectives on art. I will also display the concepts of the unconscious and intuition as factors which influence artistic creation. In the following, I will also stop at common view on the symbol, which is deeply rooted in human mind and displays the theme of dreams in artistic works. I will continue with the descriptions of artistic movements of Surrealism, Automatism and Abstract Axpressionism where the unconscious is manifested at most. The practical part consists partly of an analysis of my own work. In this analysis I am following the use of unconscious in painting gesture. The second practical part is represented by my pedagogical work at Youth Center. Visual task is based on the use of spontaneous gestures produced in Abstract Expressionism, more precisely in the so-called action painting.

Povzetek (ePrints): V začetnih poglavjih bom predstavila psihološke poglede na umetnost. Kot dejavnika, ki vplivata na samo umetniško ustvarjanje, bom razčlenila tudi pojma nezavedno in intuicija. Zaustavila se bom tudi pri občem pogledu na simbol, ki je trdno zasidran v človeku, ter pri tematiki sanj v umetnosti. Nadaljevala bom z opisom obdobij nadrealizma, s pojavom avtomatizma in abstraktnega ekspresionizma, v katerih se je nezavedno najbolj manifestiralo. Praktični del je delno sestavljen iz analize mojih del, ki sledi uporabi nezavednega v slikarskem zapisu, ter pedagoškega dela v Mladinskem centru. Likovna naloga temelji na uporabi spontane geste, ki nastaja pri abstraktnem ekspresionizmu, natančneje pri action painting-u.
