We have researched physical exercise of pre-school teachers and children in the diploma thesis. We have been interested in the relationship of pre-school teachers to their own physical exercises and physical exercises of children that they teach. We have presented the meaning of food and physical exercises for healthy lifestyle at the beginning of the diploma thesis and the meaning of that for a pre-school child, which is connected with that, and the role of a pre-school teacher for that topic. We have been discovering a possible connection in time that pre-school teachers give to their physical exercises and the time that they give to organized physical exercises in a kindergarten. The theory is supported by subjective theories which, according to our opinion, importantly influence attitude of the pre-school teacher to his/her management of the learning process. We have presented the gathered data which we have researched with a questionnaire.
The goal of the diploma thesis has been to find out if time of the physical exercises that the pre-school teachers have for themselves influence the time meant for the organized physical exercises in the kindergarten and if the purpose of appropriate planning of physical exercises in the pre-school period derives from it. We want to find out how the chosen factors of pre-school teachers' healthy lifestyle influence the frequency of physical exercises in the kindergarten.
We have gathered data about different physical exercises with a questionnaire in the period from March 2014 to April 2014. We have included 100 pre-school teachers from coincidentally chosen kindergartens in Slovenia in the sample. We have statistically analyzed data with the help of the statistics package SPSS – 20.0 for Windows. We have calculated frequencies and their percentages with the subprogram Frequencies. We have calculated the descriptive statistics with the subprogram Descriptives. We have used Pearson's coefficient of correlation for connections between variables. Statistic features of the thesis have been checked on the level of 5-percentage risk (p ≤ 0.05). Based on the data we have gathered with the questionnaire, we have found out that the amount of time a pre-school teacher takes for his physical exercises during the week, weekends, and vacations, is connected with the amount time that the pre-school teacher takes for organized physical exercises of children in the kindergarten.
Connection of the organized physical exercises of children during the week and the physical exercises of pre-school teachers is statistically significant. It means that pre-school teachers who are more frequently physically active organize physical exercises in the kindergarten more often. We have also found out that those pre-school teachers who are more physically active also take care for enough and appropriate input of drinks and they also have better relationship to physical exercises. We have not found connections between physical exercises and appropriate eating habits and taking medicines. |
