The thesis presents transactional theory in leadership and motivational theory, self-determination theory. Theoretical part presents components of self-determination continuum, work extrinsic and intrinsic motivation, components of transformational and transactional leadership and researches which are exploring this components.
The empirical part of the thesis includes research, which presents the correlation between leadership styles and work self-determination index. Moreover, it presents the correlation between components of leadership and motivational components. The research focuses on correlation between level of work motivation and styles of leadership-motivational workers, which I formulated by combining both theories.. Newly formulated styles of leadership-motivational workers represents a concept, which combine transactional, transformational or mixed leadership style with work extrinsic or intrinsic motivation. Some differences between ledership-motivational styles and level of work motivation have been established. The strongest positive correlation between leadership-motivational style and level of work motivation has been found. |
