diplomsko delo

The view of the problem of evil from the point of view of agnosticism |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In the diploma work we were dealing with a problem which poses a mass phenomenon of evil in the world for theists or atheists. It is unclear, how God, who is supposed to be omnipotent, omniscient and endlessly kind as the alleged Creator, can allow the phenomenon of evil in the dimensions that we are witnessing. We put ourselves into the positions of critics that look at the problem from the point of view of agnosticism. It says that theological beliefs about God are hard to comprehend, however, it does not deny God's existence. An agnostic wants to know the truth, but atheists' antiarguments make this difficult. The phenomenon of evil in the world is namely one of the most solid arguments against God's existance. The judgement of the arguments is especially interesting because during centuries both the atheists and theists came to their own conclusions which, even nowadays, are causing problems to opponents, and they also allow final judgements of God's existence with great effort. Our primary task was to accurately classify certain terms, divide the problem of evil into smaller units, tackle each one of them, and to derive a conclusion about which of the listed ones have, in our opinion, firmer evidence for the validation or the negation of God's existence despite the phenomenon of evil. |
