diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varnost in policijsko delo
Glavni del diplomskega dela predstavi kondicijske, koordinacijske, zaznavne sposobnosti, gibalne veščine in spretnosti, taktične sposobnosti in pomembnost delovnih izkušenj.

The specific nature of the work of the Security and Protection Centre demands from the workers absolute physical, medical and mental readiness which they have to maintain through daily training at work as well as in their leisure time at home.
The first part of the Diploma Thesis determines medical and mental conditions of security guards and presents the importance of body constitution (body type) in the performance of professional work. Further on the significance of the differences between males and females is presented which is particularly important in the development of force in the situations of crisis.
The main part of the Thesis gives a presentation of condition, coordination, perceptual abilities, motoric skills and abilities, tactical ability and the significance of gained experience at work. The thesis further on also determines the meaning of the decline of physical abilities with years as well as the age limit when one should stop working as a security guard.
Various kinds of temperament are presented - sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic as well as the most appropriate type for the work with protected persons.
Memory, alertness, language, executive abilities, superior sensoric perception (identification of objects, spatial processing) and motoric control are cognitive capabilities that are extremely important in the performance of protection.
In enumeration of the most important abilities the Thesis also suggests which of the subgroups of these abilities a security guard should develop most.
Further on the most widely spread sports activities in which the protected persons engage are presented. These are nordic walking, bicycling, swimming, cross-country skiing, skiing or snowboarding, running, mountaineering and tenis. Mention is made of specialties in protection during these activities.
In the Thesis mention is made of the actual way of testing new people to be accepted in the Security and Protection Centre as well as of the test as it should be according to my opinion. Such a test is performed for the acceptance into the group for the protection of the highest representatives of the NATO in Europe.
In the Centre there are actually no annual tests to check the bodily readiness, there is though a presentation of tests for the whole police which are totally inappropriate for testing the police security guards of the Security and Protection Centre.
The final part gives a presentation of specific moves in the performance of professional work and offers instructions how to work in order to develop the key elements for the protection such as explosivity and agility (approaching the protected person and/or the attacker), static power (keeping a person back, lockout situations), pushing away and pulling as well as coordination. |
