Povzetek
Prehrana je zelo pomemben dejavnik, saj vpliva na zdravje oz. zdravstveno stanje starostnika. Prehranjevalne navade vključujejo izbor in količino živil, ki jih uživamo, delež posameznih živil v prehrani, način priprave hrane, pogostost in razporejenost obrokov.
Prehranjevalne navade imajo lahko pozitiven ali negativen vpliv. O negativnem vplivu govorimo takrat, kadar se nezdravo prehranjujemo (prevelik vnos maščob, neustrezen ritem prehranjevanja, preveč sladkorja in soli, premalo sadja in zelenjave). Posledice nezdravega prehranjevanja se lahko kažejo kot slabo počutje, neprimerna telesna teža, pomanjkanje določenih vitaminov, pojavijo se lahko kronične bolezni. Pomembno vlogo pri prehranjevanju in pitju starostnika v domu ima medicinska sestra, ki mu svetuje, ga spodbuja, ugotovi in določa primerno prehrano glede na njegove potrebe. Z raziskavo v diplomskem delu smo želeli ugotoviti prehranjevalne navade starostnikov v domu starejših in osveščenost starostnikov o zdravi prehrani.
Metodologija raziskovanja. Za izdelavo diplomskega dela smo uporabili deskriptivno-opisno metodo dela. Raziskavo smo opravili s pomočjo anonimnega anketnega vprašalnika med dvaintridesetimi starostniki v domu starejših s koncesijo v Mariboru. Anketiranje je bilo izvedeno v mesecu avgustu 2013.
Rezultati raziskave. Ugotovili smo, da ima večina starostnikov štiri ali več obrokov na dan, da se najpogosteje prehranjujejo s kruhom, rižem in testeninami in, da je večina starostnikov mnenja, da se zdravo prehranjujejo.
Sklep. Starostnikove prehranjevalne navade močno vplivajo na njihov prehranski status in zdravje, zato je zdravo prehranjevanje zelo pomembno. Pomembno vlogo ima tudi medicinska sestra v domu, ki ozavešča starostnike o pomenu zdrave prehrane in ustreznih prehranjevalnih navadah.

Nutrition is a very important factor, for it influences on health and health condition of an elderly person. Eating habits usually include selection and quantity of edible products that we consume, share of individual foods in field of nutrition, method of food preparation, frequency and distribution of meals.
Feeding habits can have a positive or negative influence. The negative influence is presented with an unhealthy diet (excessive quantity of fat, unsuitable pace of food consumption, excessive quantity of sugar and salt, low consumption of fruits and vegetables). The signs of unhealthy diet can be seen as fatigue, inadequate body weight, lack of several vitamins, development of chronic diseases. Nurse has an important role in the process of feeding and drinking of an elderly person, which has the task of informing, encouraging and determining the adequate nutrition considering his needs. In this diploma research, we wanted to determine feeding habits of elderly persons in the nursing homes and awareness of the elderly regarding healthy diet.
Methodology of research. To write this diploma, we used the descriptive method of work. The research was conducted with the help of an anonymous questionnaire, distributed amongst 32 elderly persons in a nursing home, with concession in Maribor. The inquiry was conducted in March 2013.
Results of the research. We determined that the most of the elderly persons have four or more meals per day, that they mostly consume bread, rice and pasta and that the most of them regard their diet healthy.
Conclusion. Feeding habits of elderly persons strongly affect their nutrition status and health, therefore a healthy diet is very important. Nurse plays an important role in a nursing home, which has the task to rise awareness about the importance of healthy diet and suitable feeding habits. |
