Moški in ženske imajo različne talente, značilnosti in kompetence, kar pripomore k večjemu uspehu podjetja.

Sekundarni povzetek: In the master's thesis we discuss representation of both women and men in leadership positions, accentuating the topics of women, differences in leadership styles of both women and men as well as equal gender presence in leadership positions. Growing competitive environment demands efficient leadership in today's business world and also a human resources diversity in top leadership positions. Men and women possess different talents, attributes and competences leading to a greater success of a company. In comparison with men, there are fewer women in leadership positions as they are still facing many obstacles on their career path which men do not encounter. Position of women in the labour market and in top leadership is improving, however, women are, on average, paid less for equal work and challenged as well in climbing the corporate ladder as in their work-life balance. There are several organisations working towards improvement of women's position and good practices and various measures have also proven to be beneficial. The master’s thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. Theoretical part consists of four chapters. In the introduction we define the field, the problem, goals, hypotheses and suppositions as well as limitations of the research and foreseen methods of researching are listed. Second chapter contains a definition of leadership, the differences between leadership and management, also, models, styles and methods of leadership are defined as well as leadership styles of women and men are compared. In the third chapter a life path of a woman is described, representation of women in Slovenia as well as in European Union is presented and obstacles that women face on their career path are also mentioned. Reasons for small representation of women in leadership positions are listed, exposing the importance of work-life balance as being one of the most important conditions for enforcing equal gender opportunities in the society. The organized activity of women in Slovenia is presented. In the forth chapter gender equality stimulation measures in leadership positions are stated, also, reasons for growing number of women in leadership positions as well as documents that regulate gender equality are listed. Good practices in Slovenia that benefit the position of women are mentioned. Good practices in European companies are described as well as activities and experiences of individual countries regarding that issue. Based on legislation measures the progress regarding equality of women and men in leadership positions is given. Empirical part represents the fifth chapter, presenting the research on measures taken by companies on equal gender representation in leadership positions, finding out what potential measures would influence increasing the number of women in leadership positions the most and finally, the fundamental findings of that research are stated in the conclusion
