Povzetek

Komunikacija in medosebni odnosi so sestavni del našega življenja in nas spremljajo vse življenje. Vsakodnevno se srečujemo in soočamo z različnimi ljudmi s katerimi komuniciramo. S komunikacijo odnose vzpostavljamo in jih krepimo.

We meet and get to know different people that we communicate with every day. We establish and strengthen our relations with them through communication. Relations and communication are crucial in health care for establishing a contact with patients. A nurse can help a patient to fulfill their needs only by understanding a patient. We wanted to find out if the relation and communication between a nurse and a patient are important for a quality treatment. We have described interpersonal relation and communication between nurses and patients on the basis of mutual respect. We have also described the roles of the patient and the nurse in establishing of their relation, as well as types and models of relations. Furthermore, we have presented communication in health care, the importance of communication, and therapeutic communication as a special technique of communication. We have used a descriptive method of study of the literature and sources, and a descriptive method of work. We have established that relations between patients and health care professionals are very important. The relations are shown through communication, especially non-verbal one. Nurses inform patients by communicating with them. It is important how nurses pass on information, and they have to be sure that the patient has understood it. Based on that, a patient will be able to follow instructions and by that they will be able to reach a better condition of their health.
