diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varnost in policijsko delo
Predstavljeni sta obe definiciji, njune znacilnosti in tipologija.
so njihove žrtve.
S pomocjo internetnega iskanja
clankov iz medijskih novic smo iz spletne strani Murderpedia.org in medijskega portala USA
TODAY dobili potrebne podatke. V obeh primerih smo ugotovili, da prevladujejo moški
storilci. Ženski spol je v manjšini. Serijske morilke tako zajemajo le 10 odstotkov,
množicne morilke pa le 6,2 odstotka storilcev.

The thesis describes serial and mass murderers and the comparison between male and
female genders of the latter. We will explain the definitions of both, their characteristics
and typology. The thesis also describes the phases of serial murders and a division of the
offenders into the organized and unorganized killers. The latter applies to serial killers and
helps police officers and criminal investigators when investigating the crime scene.
We must be aware that although they are more men murderers we must not forget that
there are also female killers. They can be just as cruel as men even though we might not
find it so at the first sight.
The typology or classification of both serial and mass murderers is important. It tells us
how male or female offenders kill, what is their weapon of choice and what kind are their
victims. The typology of serial killers is divided according to gender while the typology of
mass murderers is single and is not classified by gender.
It is usually considered that serial killers are sociopaths, while most mass murderers are
psychopaths. Definition and understanding of both terms is very important, because there
are differences between them, and understanding both can be of great assistance to law
enforcement authorities in locating and arresting killers, whether they are male or female
offenders.
In the empirical research we captured a thirteen-year period for serial killers and a five
year period for mass murderers. With the help of an internet search on the web page
Murderpedia.org and USA TODAY web portal we got the necessary information. We found in
both cases that man offenders dominate. Female gender is in minority. Female serial
killers gather 10 percent, while female mass murderers gather only 6.2 percent. |
