(diplomsko delo)

Sekundarni povzetek: |
Theoretical basis: Diabetic neuropathy has been accompanied by many unpleasant symptoms, among them pain. Painful diabetic neuropathy is important fori ncreasing disease rate, impairment and lower cooperation and quality of life of patients with diabetes and increased mortality. The purpose of the diploma thesis has been to present neuropathic pain of people with diabetes and to find out with the research how neuropathic pain influences the quality of life. Methodology of research: Theoretical bases have been gained by ananalysis of Slovenian and foreign sources. The theoretical part has been supported by the empirical part. We have used the quantitative method of research with a questionnaire for the empirical part of the diploma thesis which included 20 questions of half-opened and closed type. We have analysed, statistically analysed the gained data with the computer programme Microsoft Excel and the results were shown by a graphic presentation. Results: The results of the research have shown that painful diabetic neuropathy influences the lives of the participants. Pain especially influences their sleep and mood, their social life to some extent, flexibility, and every day activity. We have found out that 53 % of the respondents are enough informed about their disease, most of the respondents graded pain with 6 after visual analogue scale. Conclusion: Every individual experiences pain in his/her own way and also reacts on it. Pain has a big impact on the quality of life, especially when pain is chronical and strong. For efficient treatment and healing of neuropathic pain, cooperation between patient, the family, and the whole medical team is essential. The purpose of relieving the pain is to improve the quality of patien's life. It can be achieved so that we take care of good or better patient's condition and his most of all unimpeded execution of life's activities. |
