Povzetek

V magistrskem delu smo opisali problem staranja prahu, ki se pojavlja med tehnologijo selektivnega laserskega sintranja. Kot parameter, s katerim želimo obravnavati ta problem smo izbrali indeks pretoka taline (IPT) materiala in za njegovo merjenje razvili prirejeno napravo za merjenje omenjenega indeksa. Naprava je bila izdelana po standardu SIST EN ISO 1133-1:2012, vendar deloma prilagojena za merjenje praškastih materialov, ki so v uporabi v tehnologiji laserskega sintranja (Poliamid 12). Izdelali smo stiskalnico prahu, s katero pred meritvijo izločimo ujet zrak v materialu. V delu so opisani postopki izdelave naprave, njeno delovanje in možne izboljšave. Z merjenjem IPT pri preliminarni meritvi smo potrdili spreminjanje lastnosti materiala po določeni izpostavljenosti visokim temperaturam, kakor to navajajo viri [4] in [8] (zmanjševanje IPT). Druga meritev pa nam je dala nepričakovane rezultate, ki so bili deloma posledica uporabe materiala drugega proizvajalca, saj je IPT materiala med staranjem začel sčasoma rasti in je celo presegel začetne vrednosti. Novo obnašanje, ki v literaturi še ni bilo popisano, smo pripisali degradaciji material, t.j. krajšanju polimernih molekul.

Sekundarni povzetek: The master thesis describes a problem of powder degradation during selective laser sintering (SLS). Melt Flow Index has been used as a parameter which describes degradation of materials. For its measurement a special device has been developed. The device has been designed and manufactured according to the SIST EN ISO 1133-1:2012 standard and partially adapted to the demands of fine grained (below 50 μm) powder materials used in SLS technologies (Poliamide 12). A special press has been developed and manufactured which is used to remove the air traped among the fine graines of the material and to compact the powder material into small cylindrical tablets that fit into the MFI measuring device. The present work describes the processes of development and manufacturing of both devices, their functioning and possible future improvements. Preliminary MFI measurements confirmed expected changes (reduction of MFI values) in the material after its exposure to elevated temperatures as mentioned in sources [4] and [8]. The results of subsequent measurements were rather unexpected. Main reason for that was the use of a material from different producer that showed completely different behaviour. After the initial drop of MFI value it started to raise and finally overcomed the initial values. The new behaviour, which hasn't been described in the literature yet has been attributed to polymer chain scission as a result of severe degradation of the polymeric molecules.
