Na kratko smo opisali likovno izražanje in likovni razvoj učencev petega razreda, ker so učenci tega starostnega obdobja vključeni v empirično raziskavo. Učitelji so premalo seznanjeni s Konceptom odkrivanja in dela z nadarjenimi učenci, saj njihovo prepoznavanje likovno nadarjenih otrok ni dovolj zadovoljivo.

Sekundarni naslov: IDENTIFICATION OF VISUAL ART GIFTED PUPILS IN ART IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Sekundarni povzetek: In the first chapters of the Master Thesis, entitled Identification of Visual Art Gifted Pupils in Art in Primary Schools, we answered the questions what is giftedness and how do we discover it. We also introduced the characteristics of gifted pupils, the reasons for failed gifted pupils and the teacher`s role in this matter. The importance of the teacher`s role in the modern pedagogy is also seen in the field of teaching gifted children. Therefore, it is of great importance that the teacher gains appropiate skills, that the teacher is motivated, flexible, honest, self-assured. The teacher should be an expert on his field, creative and ready to work with gifted pupils. We also should not forget pupils` parents and the school counsellor in primary schools. The theoretical part ends with the answers to the following questions: What is creativity? What types of creativity do we know? What is intelligence? What is artistic talent? How does motivation influence gifted pupils? We briefly described artistic expression and artistic development of the 5th class pupils, becasuse they were included in the empirical research. In the empirical part, we present the 5th class pupils' art work analysis from seventeen different primary schools, from where we monitored the factors of the artistic creativity and the teacher's suitability when choosing art works from potentially gifted pupils. The results of the research show that pupils are creative, however this is not the only criterion which identifies a child who is gifted in art. The teachers are not familiar with the "Concept of identifying and working with gifted children", because their identifying of gifted children was not sufficient enough. They evaluate the work of children too subjectively. Perhaps, there are a lot of pupils who are gifted in art but they were not identified as gifted by the teachers. It would be interesting to research what teachers evaluate as creative art work and which criteria they use while evaluating.
