(magistrsko delo)

Sekundarni povzetek: |
Theoretical background: The literature of the renowned domestic and foreign authors was used for the theoretical part. We used a descriptive method. In the theoretical part we described the basics of management, its definitions, levels and functions. We also mentioned profit and non-profit organizations and described the differences between them. Furthermore, we presented a management process where we defined leadership, its components and the basic skills that are necessary for the effective and efficient management. We also described the styles of leadeship, and because this thesis is about the motivation of our employees, we also explained the motivation, motivational theories, factors, and factors affecting motivation.
Aims and objectives: The primary purpose is to discover a link between management style and motivation, and to determine what effect has a leadership style on an employee motivation in the non-profit organization. Also, we wanted to determine which leadership style currently prevails in the institution and what kind of a leader the employees want in the future, so that they would be succesfully motivated in performing their tasks.
Research Methodology: Descriptive and analytical statistical methods were basis for this thesis. The results were obtained using a survey instrument which was a closed type of anonymous questionnaire. The sample represented 100 employees in nursing at the Department of Surgery at the University Medical Centre Maribor. The survey highlighted the transformational style of leadership, transactional leadership style and motivational factors, both tangible and intangible.
Results: The results obtained with the help of research tell us that there is a statistically significant difference in favour of the transformational style of leadership. While statistically significant difference is not shown in influencing on the motivation with the transformation management style with the same effect as the influence of tangible and intangible motivational factors.
Conclusion: Based on the research we can conclude that at the Department of Surgery at the University Medical Centre Maribor transformational leadership style prevails over the transactional. We have also found that transformational leadership style plays an important role in motivating employees because they want a leader, who will use this style of management, although the effects of this style are influencing the motivation of employees do not work with the same effect as the influence of tangible and intangible incentives, factors. |
