Sekundarni naslov: THE ISSUE OF MIGRATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITH TERTIARY EDUCATION IN SLOVENIA
Sekundarni povzetek: In this dissertation entitled The Issue of Migration of Young People with Tertiary Education in Slovenia, we have described the concept of migration and introduced the migration policies in the EU as well as in Slovenia. Furthermore, we have defined the notion of the young and described the problems young educated people are facing nowadays when they enter the labour market. In this vein, we have focused on the young population who have chosen as one of their potential life goals to move abroad. Next, the European employment policies as well as measures to be taken for employing young people have been presented. Last but not least, we have outlined the current situation in terms of migration, the labour market of the EU, EU members and Slovenia alongside the level of the highly educated young people in our country. In the following sections, we have presented the results of the research which has been carried out among the students of the Faculty of Organisational Sciences in Kranj. These findings concern the issues related to employment of the young people with tertiary education in Slovenia and their potential migration abroad. Some interesting conclusions have been drawn. For instance, the young are prepared to work abroad, particularly those who have active knowledge of foreign languages as well as those who are older or are part-time students. They would be prepared to go abroad especially due to better living conditions, a higher standard of living as well as to gain new experience. It has been concluded that nowadays young people have what it takes to succeed abroad should they decide to migrate. After all, they are highly educated, young and active, brimming with energy, they have good command of foreign languages and are prepared to work abroad. In Slovenia, it will be a considerable challenge in the future to lure back the young who have decided to move abroad or to find a way to keep them in the country and therefore prevent the potential brain drain.
