Sekundarni naslov: INCLUSION OF A CHILD WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS IN A REGULAR GROUP OF KINDERGARTEN
Sekundarni povzetek: In this thesis the educational, socio-emotional and medical aspect of the treatment of children with chronic conditions or long-term sick children is presented. A boy with chronic respiratory insufficiency in a regular kindergarten group is presented here, which represents a huge challenge for the kindergarten teacher, the assistant and for the child's peers as well. In the legislation, children with long-term illnesses are treated as children with special needs and, consequently should belong to particular groups in kindergarten. The example of this boy in the thesis proves that the inclusion of long-term sick children in the kindergarten regular group is possible, but it requires a lot of patience and adaptation measured by educators, their assistants and peers. It is necessary to educate the professionals so that the disease can be kept in a register and so it does not lead to unnecessary complications. As it is evident from the testimonies of a kindergarten teacher it is also important to have a spatial and temporal adaptability and of course a help of a skilled assistant. At this point it is appropriate to recall that the progress in medicine only, which allows the vast majority of children with a diagnosis of living in a home environment with their peers and attend regular kindergartens and schools, is not enough. At the inclusion there are many more factors involved. The boy's health is strongly influenced by his physical and mental state, so his staying in the nursery facilities must be strongly adapted. A whole range of companions is needed, even special educator when required and with their help he can be included in the customized programmes.
