Povzetek
Nadarjeni otroci predstavljajo tisti del družbe, ki bodo krojili njeno prihodnost; zato moramo že danes poskrbeti za njihov razvoj. Strokovnjaki namreč vedno bolj ugotavljajo, kako pomembno je odkrivanje in ukvarjanje z nadarjenostjo že v predšolskem obdobju. Čeprav na področju predšolske vzgoje v Sloveniji ni sprejetih zakonskih določb glede nadarjenih predšolskih otrok, je smiselno s sistematičnim delom začeti čim prej, saj so otrokova prva leta ključna za nadaljnji razvoj. Ker menimo, da je to področje, ki bi ga bilo potrebno urediti, smo se odločili za to tematiko raziskovanja. V teoretičnem delu je definirana nadarjenost, opisane so vrste nadarjenosti, značilnosti nadarjenih otrok, zakonske opredelitve in podlage omenjenega področja, velik del pa je posvečen zgodnjemu odkrivanju, vlogi vrtca in staršev ter delu z nadarjenimi otroki. V empiričnem delu so predstavljene analize ocen števila nadarjenih otrok v vrtcih Šaleške doline, katere vrste nadarjenosti prepoznavajo strokovni delavci v predšolski dobi, mnenja vzgojiteljev, pomočnikov vzgojiteljev in svetovalnih delavcev o lastni usposobljenosti za prepoznavanje in delo z nadarjenimi, kakšnih oblik in načinov dela se vprašani poslužujejo pri delu z nadarjenimi ter raziskali njihova mnenja glede področja obravnave nadarjenih v vrtcu. Ugotovili smo, da se sodelujoči v raziskavi zavedajo pomembnosti odkrivanja in dela z nadarjenimi predšolskimi otroki, vendar jih k tovrstnemu delu ne obvezuje nobena zakonodaja in je dejansko delo na tem področju odvisno od interesa posameznika.

EARLY IDENTIFICATION AND WORKING WITH GIFTED CHILDREN IN PRESCHOOL INSTITUTIONS OF ŠALEŠKA VALLEY |

Gifted children represent that part of society that will shape its future; therefore society has to provide for their development today. Experts are more and more acknowledging the importance of detecting and working with giftedness already in the preschool period. Despite the fact that Slovenia does not have any legislation regarding gifted preschool children, it is important to begin with systematic approach as soon as possible, since the child%s' first several years are crucial for further development. As we believe that this area should be systematically regulated, we decided to further research this topic. In theoretical part we define giftedness; we describe types of giftedness, the characteristics of gifted children, legal definitions and basic laws of the mentioned area. However, the large part of theoretical part is devoted to the early identification of gifted children, the role of preschool institutions, parents' role and ways of working with gifted preschool children. In empirical research we present analysis of the estimated number of gifted children in preschool institutions of Šaleška valley, which types of giftedness are recognized by the preschool educators, opinions of preschool educators, their assistants and school counsellors about their skills for identification and working with gifted children, and which methods of work the respondents use for gifted children. We also asked for their opinion on giftedness in preschool period. The findings show that participants in the survey are aware of the importance of identifying and working with gifted preschool children, but they are not legally obliged for this kind of work, therefore the work in this area depends on individual's interest. |
