Sekundarni naslov: NURSING CARE OF A PATIENT WITH ANEMIA
Sekundarni povzetek: Anemia is the most common group of hematologic diseases and in more than half of the cases just one of the symptoms of some other basic disease. We speak of anemia when the whole amount of hemoglobin in a body is reduced and the number of erythrocyte is reduced. As a consequence hipocsy in tissues evolves, from which the organism tries to defend itself in different ways. A patient shows various symptoms and their intensity depends from the level of hemoglobin in the blood, from the course of the disease and from the way anemia evolved. In the theoretical part of my diploma the structure, operation and function of the blood are presented. Definitions of the concept anemia are given, followed by the classification and presentation of different types of anemia. Further, the basic symptoms of the mentioned disease are shown, problems anemic patients have to deal with are also presented, as well as diagnostic-therapeutic program and the role a medical nurse has, when dealing with an anemic patient. In the empirical part the results of my research are presented, which was made between the nurses in the department for hematology and hematologic oncology and in the department for nephrology in the University Medical Centre Maribor. The goal of the research was to find out which signs of anemia medical nurses most often encounter during their work, which problems they are facing when they are treating an anemic patient and if they burn out when they work with such patients.
