Povzetek

Diplomsko delo obravnava položaj žensk na vodilnih položajih. Ženske kljub višji izobrazbi in napredni zakonodaji zasedajo le tretjino vodilnih položajev. V drugem delu diplomskega dela s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika in intervjuja opravimo raziskavo, s katero preverimo hipoteze, postavljene v diplomskem delu.

Sekundarni naslov: WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
Sekundarni povzetek: The thesis is discussing the position of women in management positions. In spite of higher education and advanced legislation, only about one third of management positions are occupied by women. In their path to those positions, they encounter many obstacles and have to prove that they are at least as good as men. In the first part of the thesis management and its division levels are introduced. We present differences between a manager and a leader, leading styles and differences between male and female manner of leadership. We enter deeper into the issue of employing women and the obstacles they encounter on their way to the management positions. Furthermore, we highlight three occupations where the percentage of women is very small. In the second part of the thesis we carry out a research with the help of a questionnaire and interviews in which we check the hypothesis of the thesis. Questionnaire was filled in by randomly selected people with whose help we obtained the opinions about women in management positions. Interviews were conducted with three who currently hold those positions. With the analysis carried out the thesis we come to the conclusion that the number of women in management positions is too small. The reason for this is the fact that women have to work harder and prove their capability more than men while building their careers. Women are capable of being in higher positions and in their work they are equally good or even better than their male rivals despite the obstacles women encounter on the way to their dream career. Very often women find themselves in a situation where they have to chose between their career and their personal life.
