diplomsko delo

Sekundarni naslov: ǂThe ǂdevelopment of wind bands in the Upper Savinja Valley
Sekundarni povzetek: This graduation paper presents the wind bands from the Upper Savinja Valley. The brass and wind orchestras are presented according to the year of origin. Before the First World War, the following wind band existed in this region: the Solčava and Šmihel Wind Bands, as well as the Tovstovrški Pumpovci Wind Band that was active in Ljubno ob Savinji and surroundings. However, during WW l their activity was interrupted. During the Wars, a number of new wind bands emerged: the Fire-brigade Wind Band in Gornji Grad and four other Wind Bands - in Dol-Suha, Luče, Ljubno and Lepa Njiva. Again, the Second World War stopped their activities. There was also a wind band in Nazarje, formed just shortly before the beginning of WW II, which moved to Mozirje when the Upper Savinja Valley was occupied. In 1944, the Valley was liberated by the partisans and at that time there was a Partisan Wind Band at Ljubno, consisting mainly of players from the Workers Wind Band Trbovlje. In December 1944, the Germans occupied the Valley again and the Wind Band disbanded. After the War, two workers' bands were formed: in 1946 in Nazarje and in Rečica ob Savinji in 1964. On the Mozirje Municipality initiative, in 1976 a wind band in Rečica was formed again. It was conducted by Franc Goljuf and was called the Workers Wind Band of Mozirje Municipality at first, but in 1996 changed its name to the Upper Savinja Valley Wind Band which has been kept till today. Besides the mentioned wind bands, the graduation paper also includes a short presentation of wind band development in Slovenia, as well as numerous folk musicians in the region of the Upper Savinja Valley, who were self-taught players in the first wind band ensembles.
