Sekundarni povzetek: | After the 1960s political science in Slovenia was developing in spite of the ideological limitations. Its institutionalisation and professionalisation was important for its role in the transition process. The stateʼs independence and its EU membership have greatly increased its importance. As a new and innovative area of science it has engaged in the development of modern teaching programmes and research. However, questions remain unanswered concerning how to encourage the competent behaviour of political elites and contribute to policy making in an economic crisis. Another matter is Sloveniaʼs position vis-à-vis the EU in the circumstances of its shrinking national sovereignty and its position in international relations and defence organisations. The insufficient presence of Slovenian political scientists on the international level calls for extra attention. |
