Povzetek

Magistrsko delo obravnava položaj Judov v mestih Maribor in Erfurt v srednjem veku. Poleg smiselnega uvoda o razvoju in nastanku obeh srednjveških mest je del naloge posvečen primerjalni analizi judovskega položaja v obeh mestih. Izpostavljene so ključne tematike, kjer se kažejo podobnosti in razlike med obema obravnavanima judovskima skupnostima. Specifično se magistrsko delo ukvarja še z raziskavo vzorca judovske naselitve v mestih Maribor in Erfurt. Nadalje so analizirane različne perspektive judovskega položaja v obeh mestih. Eden izmed ključnih ciljev, ki predstavlja sklepni del naloge, je ugotoviti podobnosti in razlike med mariborskimi in erfurtskimi Judi. Judje so kot etnična skupnost sooblikovali zgodovino na slovenskem ozemlju kot tudi drugod, kar jasno pokaže primer Erfurta, ki je premogel številčnejšo judovsko skupnost v primerjavi z Mariborom. Ponovni pojav Judov v 9. in 10. stoletju se povezuje predvsem z dobro prepredeno trgovsko mrežo, ki je botrovala nastanku številnih judovskih krajev in oblikovanju močnih judovskih skupnosti z lastno politično in pravno samoupravo. Le-te so bile pomemben faktor gospodarskega razvoja vse do množičnih izgonov v 15. stoletju. Nedvomno sta judovski skupnosti v Mariboru in Erfurtu odličen pokazatelj hitrega gospodarskega razvoja, številnih privilegijev (predvsem v korist vladarjev), značilne strukture judovskih občin in najstarejših navad ter običajev Judov na evropskih tleh.

Sekundarni povzetek:	The primary focus of the master thesis is the position of Jews in the Middle Ages in cities Maribor and Erfurt. The first part of the master thesis deals with the development and construction of both cities, whereas the second part is dedicated to a comparative analysis of the Jewish position within them. In addition, the second part exposes the differences and similarities between both Jewish communities. The research focuses on the Jewish settlements in the cities of Maribor and Erfurt. Different perspectives of the Jewish position in both cities are analyzed and presented. One of the key goals is to find the differences and similarities between the Jewish communities in both cities. Jews as an ethnic group helped shape history in Slovene lands like elsewhere in the world. This can be clearly seen in the example of Erfurt, which had a bigger Jewish community than Maribor. The re-emergence of Jews in the 9th and 10th centuries AD is primarily associated with the good cross-trading network that led to the emergence of many Jewish towns and the creation of strong Jewish communities with their own political and legal autonomy. The Jewish community was an important factor in economic development up until the mass deportations in the 15th century AD. The Jewish communities in Maribor and Erfurt have a typical Jewish community structure and excellently demonstrate the Jews' rapid economic ascent, their countless privileges primarily benefiting the rulers, and the oldest Jewish customs and traditions on European soil.
