diplomsko delo

Sekundarni povzetek: In the thesis, we analysed the cooperation between the European Union (EU) and the USA and between the EU and Canada, which has gained its importance in the last 50 years. We introduced the economies of the EU, the USA and Canada and political and economic relationships of the EU with the discussed countries. We focused on the analysis of the EU’s Common Commercial Policy towards the stated countries. The special attention was given to the agreements. We studied the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the EU and the USA, which is currently being negotiated. We have also given the attention to the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada, which has been already stated, however, it has to be ratified. Furthermore, Slovenia's trade cooperation with USA and Canada, as well as the prospects for the further cooperation in the context of predicted acceptance of TTIP and CETA. In the last decade, when the global economic crisis has arisen, the finding about the necessary closer cooperation that can essentially aid the improvement of economic growth and development through free flow of goods, services and capital, has been formed. Despite ambitious endeavour to unify the technical standards, the trade between the EU and the stated countries decreased from year to year. The advantages in the extent and the dynamics of trade and investment have started to gain developing countries and the so-called high-growth markets, respectively.
