Raziskovalna metodologija: v teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela, s pomočjo analize domače in tuje literature. V raziskovalnem delu smo uporabili kvalitativno metodologijo dela, izdelali smo anonimni anketni vprašalnik. Sklep: ugotovili smo, da zdravstveni delavci nezadostno informirajo starše o pomenu cepljenja otrok in s tem posledično starši nimajo zadostnega znanja o nalezljivih boleznih, proti katerim cepimo njihove otroke. Smiselno bi bilo izvajati kakovostnejšo zdravstveno vzgojo.

Sekundarni naslov: VACCINATION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN AGAINST ROGELLA, MORBILLI AND MUMPS
Sekundarni povzetek: Theoretical background: In the diploma thesis, we presented the vaccination of preschool children against measles, rubella and mumps and the role of a nurse. We described measles, rubella and mumps, presented the vaccination program in preschool period in Slovenia and described the preventive role of nurses before, during and after the vaccination of children. Research methodology: In the theoretical part of the thesis we used the descriptive method of work, through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature. In the research part we used the qualitative method of work, where we created an anonymous questionnaire. Data were statistically analysed using the computer program Microsoft Excel. Results: Research has shown that 57% of parents are not sufficiently informed about the importance and the positive and negative effects of vaccination by healthcare workers, as well as not about contraindications in vaccination for measles, rubella and mumps. The study shows that parents are not adequately informed about the infectious diseases against which the vaccine is given, although a low percentage (28%) of parents have concerns about vaccination. Conclusion: We have found that healthcare workers are not adequately informing the parents about the importance of vaccinating children and, consequently, parents do not have sufficient knowledge about infectious diseases against which their children are vaccinated. It would be appropriate to implement higher-quality health education.
