Sekundarni povzetek: | In this thesis we represent a development cycle from an idea to working prototype of a device that uses the AMS AS3935 Franklin Lightning Sensor to achieve rudimentary lightning strike surge protection for electronic devices. In theoretical chapters, we describe the phenomenon of lightning strike and overview available lightning strike surge protectors. The development of prototype was carried out based on initial survey of several development platforms to choose the most appropriate one for our needs. The whole development process was supported solely by the open source tools. Developed embedded system has been tested and observed under storm conditions and it was discovered that it recognized 55% of lightning storms and properly disconnected the protected device in every detected event. |
