Povzetek
Namen diplomske naloge je bil izvesti analizo življenjskega cikla proizvodnje bioetanola s programskim orodjem openLCA. Analiza življenjskega cikla je opravljena za postopek proizvodnje etanola iz lahko fermentirajočih ogljikovih hidratov (sladkorjev) in za postopek proizvodnje iz škrobnih surovin. Kot surovine, ki vsebujejo pretežno sladkor so izbrane sladkorni trs in sladkorna pesa, škrobne surovine pa koruza in pšenica. Za sladkorni trs in koruzo je analiza opravljena tudi za primer dolgih transportnih poti.
Dobljene rezultate smo primerjali med seboj in ugotavljali, kateri postopek in katera surovina sta iz okoljskega vidika najprimernejša. Dobljene rezultate smo primerjali tudi s podatki okoljskih vplivov proizvodnje bencina ter ugotavljali ali je uporaba bioetanola sprejemljivejša.
Na podlagi izvedenih analiz smo ugotovili, da ima najmanjše okoljske vplive postopek proizvodnje bioetanola iz lahko fermentirajočih ogljikovih hidratov in sicer iz sladkornega trsa. V primerjavi z uporabo bencina je boljša uporaba etanola iz sladkornega trsa in koruze, ker imata manjše ekvivalentne emisije CO2. V primeru dolgih transportnih poti surovin je bolj smiselna uporaba bencina.

The purpose of this thesis was to perform the life cycle assessment of bioethanol production with the openLCA software. Life cycle assessment is performed for the processes of ethanol production from readily fermentable carbohydrates (sugars) and from raw materials containing starch. For the process with sugars, sugar cane and sugar beets were chosen as raw materials, while as raw materials containing starch, corn and wheat were selected. For sugar cane and corn also the analysis for the case of long transport routes was carried out.
The results obtained were compared, and the most suitable which processes and raw materials were identified from the environmental point of view. The results were compared with the data regarding the environmental impact of the production of gasoline. Analysis was made whether the use of bioethanol is environmentally more acceptable than the use of gasoline.
On the basis of the analyses carried out, it was found that the production of bioethanol from readily fermentable carbohydrate, namely sugar cane has the smallest environmental impact. The lowest CO2 equivalent emissions has the ethanol derived from sugar cane. In comparison with the use of gasoline it is environmentally better to use the ethanol from sugar cane or maize, because they have lower CO2 equivalent emissions. In the case of long transport routes of raw materials it is more suitable to use gasoline. |
