This thesis treats the additional education of teachers in the sphere of the Slovene 9-year basic education schooling program. One elementary school in Ljubljana is explored more in detail. The thesis presents the real meaning of additional education for elementary school teachers, different forms and types of education, which the teachers can visit and finally the goals of the education themselves. Furthermore, motivational factors, motivational theories, motives and finally interests in the education are described and explored. The main part of the thesis consists of the presentation of the chosen school, Spodnja Šiška elementary school, the description combining their mission, vision, organizational scheme and the cadre structure. With the research made, regarding the education of the employees at the Spodnja Šiška elementary school, the following questions wanted to be answered: if the additional education is necessary, if the teachers participate in the process and how many of the teachers actually participate, if the acquired knowledge is in any way helpful in their line of work, what is their motivation for taking part in the educational process and what turns them away and last, but not least, if these educations fit their expectations, in other words, if they are content with the given process and/or knowledge. At the end of the research, the teachers were given the opportunity to suggest, how they would improve these educations. In the final chapter of the thesis, the results and the findings are shown as well as some of my own statements, regarding the additional education of teachers and their contentment. |
